Hong Kong Airlines has received the first of an order of 30 Airbus A320 single aisle jets.
- Hong Kong Airlines has taken order of its first Airbus A320 jet. The new addition to the fleet will be used on services throughout Asia.
The aircraft, which features engines designed by CFM International and can seat 152 passengers, will be used on services from Hong Kong to the airline’s destinations located throughout Southeast Asia, China and North Asia.
In addition to receiving the new fleet of A320’, Hong Kong Airlines has also taken delivery of a long-range Airbus A330-200 jet, which will be used for long haul services and feature an all-premium-class layout.
The premium class service will seat 116 passengers and be utilised on Hong Kong Airlines’ non-stop services between Hong Kong and London.
- The airline will launch its first ‘All Premium’ service, with luxurious seating for 110 passengers aboard its Airbus A330-200 between Hong Kong and London.
“With the delivery of our first A320 and the new all-premium class A330 Hong Kong Airlines will consolidate further its position as a premier full-service carrier,” said Yang Jian Hong, President, Hong Kong Airlines. “The on-board features will ensure that we are able to offer the best possible in-flight experience, while benefitting from the economic efficiency offered by these modern aircraft types.”
The management team also highlighted the efficiency of the new Airbus jets, pointing out the low operating costs in both regional and long haul markets.
The A320 Family is the best-selling and most modern single aisle product line available today, with over 8,300 aircraft ordered and some 5,000 delivered to some 340 customers and operators worldwide.
Airbus has recorded nearly 1,200 orders for the A330 Family and more than 800 aircraft are flying with some 90 operators worldwide. In addition to passenger aircraft, the A330 Family also includes freighter, VIP and military transport / tanker variants.
